O.k., call it spring break.... what can I say. Seems I hit this point every year, to heck with this blog, what a waste of time!! I decide to just let it go, then I say "if I just keep it going until the end of May, I can claim (4) years of writing....". Whatever.
So a few weeks ago, maybe four?, Rose and Bryn both showed up on a Friday night. I had skipped out of work early and made, you guessed it, spaghetti!!! Birthday time of year, you know.

I think I like the making process as much as the final product. Well maybe not..

The girls were on hand to 'help' with various parts of the meal and celebration......

I'm getting lazier each year... we had only one candle and it was a big one at that....

Text is minimal, I have catching up to do........

The evening was really wonderful. Mary brought one of "their traditions" with her... a supply of old pictures that were taken as the girls were growing up. Most were pictures that I had never seen, but it was a wonderful time for remembering, for all of us I'm sure. Chris, Ashley and Hailee came up the following day, so we all got a little "all together family time"... and that was great too.
Well, "come and get it", like Ma Kettle would say. :)
I'll do the dishes... :)

Lovely pictures all! Happy belated birthdays you beautiful girls. You adults should feel very happy and proud of those bright and beautiful girls - as I am sure you do. The dining room looked pretty and warm and familial just as it used to and just as it should. Thank you - warm and sentimental feelings of growing up with friends, family and wonder. Eugene, mom is not kidding about being hungry for your spaghett1! She mentions is about once a week and there is non in this city that satisfies her. I love and miss you all. K

Nice tradition! everyone looks great and so does the old kitchen! wish I had been there. Sadet is coming again in June and am planning on taking her to Ogema to see where old Gamma grew up! Looking forward to getting over your way this summer for a few days. Hope the Ottertail bunks are available!

O.K., then, you are all invited to "kids birthday" supper next year. I'll let you know in advance.

Bunks are still there, just need a little 'house keeping' out there....

We went to Prentice this evening to help celebrate BJ and Jerry's son's wedding. Guess who we ran into? Liz and Dennis!!! Liz did the wedding ceremony.... I did not know that was happening. It was a good night anyway...... ;-)

any pics of the wedding?

We did not go to the wedding, I'm guessing it was a very small ceremony. But that's a guess. No camera with me at the Boondocks...

Bj and Jerry's son married a daughter of Don Ringersma, the auto mechanic in Phillips. You will remember him, eh Lucy?

I chatted for quite a while with Don Ringersma and his wife,(a Kosterman from Phillips). Don said all sorts of really nice things about Herb, and he finished up with, "I guess you could say that Herb was my mentor, my idol. Without him, I'm sure that I would have ended up dead in a gutter someplace...No, I'm serious.... (pause)... He really was a special guy to me."

Yup, it was nice to spend some time with Liz and Dennis too. Congrats on quitting smoking Dennis. We're really proud of you. It's an extremely tough thing to do.

Look forward to seeing everyone at the girl's next birthday party. cool.

Today, I'm heading back up to Phillips to grab another van load of stuff out of the garage..Will be happy when the move is complete and the garage sale is done.

hugs to all. ps
